Dan Colen began making confetti paintings in the wake of his friend Dash Snow’s death in 2009. These paintings later went on to be exhibited at the Gagosian Gallery in Paris (‘Moments Like This Never Last’, 2012). For Colen, the imagery symbolizes the significant yet fleeting moments of joy and magic.
