The small artist’s book was included in the second portfolio of ‘S.M.S.’ (Shit Must Stop), a project established in New York by William Copley in 1968. Throughout the book there are text-book style images of a variety of phallic scientific instruments, which are given mock Latin titles: ‘pueri clumsi’, ‘dippric bifucus’, ‘recti semi erectus’, ‘globuli cum titillatis regularis’, etc. Lozano presents her findings in the form of a thesis submitted for an academic degree, with notes, a conclusion and an erratum at the end.
